Genomics Africa Fellow: Mpanga Kasonde

Mpanga KasondeĀ is a public health laboratory scientist at the Zambia National Public Health Insitute in the National Public Health Reference Laboratory in Zambia.

Mpanga KasondeĀ came to this fellowship at CERI in Stellenbosch to receive training on SARS-CoV-2 sequencing in order to increase genomics surveillance for public health pathogens in Zambia.

Duration of the fellowship: 2 to 12 November 2021.

Trained received: Hands-on sequencing on Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) sequencing and bioinformatics analysis.
