GENOMICS AFRICA FELLOW: BENJAMIN MOSWANE

Benjamin Moswane is a Masters student at the University of the Free State.

Benjamin Moswane came to this fellowship at KRISP in University of KwaZulu-Natal and CERI at University of Stellenbosch to receive training on SARS-CoV-2, HIV, TB and other pathogen sequencing to develop himself as an emerging medical scientist. He plans to use these skills to create predictive models for disease and improve diagnoses of bacterial infections.

Duration of the fellowship:  10 April 2023 to 21 April 2023.

Trained received: Hands-on sequencing on Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) and Illumina COVID-seq sequencing and bioinformatics analysis.
