GENOMICS AFRICA FELLOW: BARON YANKONDE

Baron Yankonde is a researcher at the Churches Health Association of Zambia.

Baron Yankonde came to this fellowship at KRISP in University of KwaZulu-Natal and CERI at University of Stellenbosch to receive training on SARS-CoV-2, HIV, TB and other pathogen sequencing in order to improve genomic surveillance of wastewater, and mentor other scientists in Zambia

Duration of the fellowship:  10 April 2023 to 21 April 2023.

Trained received: Hands-on sequencing on Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) and Illumina COVID-seq sequencing and bioinformatics analysis.
