GENOMICS AFRICA FELLOW: BRIAN KAGURUSI

Brian Kagurusi is a researcher at the National Health Laboratory and Diagnostic services in Uganda.

Brian Kagurusi came to this fellowship at KRISP in University of KwaZulu-Natal and CERI at University of Stellenbosch to receive training on SARS-CoV-2, HIV, TB and other pathogen sequencing to help build reliable genomic surveillance pipelines and identification of targets for disease prevention.

Duration of the fellowship:  10 April 2023 to 21 April 2023.

Trained received: Hands-on sequencing on Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) and Illumina COVID-seq sequencing and bioinformatics analysis.
